Topics

We plan to set up and implement IWRM plans for several sub-basins, including the Songor, Gambaga, and Kpasenkpe. We aim to support the identification of Delta issues, such as safety and water allocation, and to establish a Delta programme. In the Songor Lagoon, we will support local water and nature authorities with Nature-based Solutions by initiating mangrove planting and training communities to participate.

We will also work along the riverbanks near the VEA Dam, supporting reforestation by engaging farmers in forest management within buffer zones. Sanitation remains a major challenge in northern Ghana. To address this, we plan to introduce Community-Led Total Sanitation in the marketplaces of Bolgatanga and Bongo, and at Gowrie School. Our approach will focus on helping communities take ownership of local sanitation issues and develop their own sustainable solutions.
