Our Partners

The work we do would not be possible without our many partners, donors and partnerships. We cooperate with public and private parties, knowledge institutes and NGO’s. Together, we contribute to sustainable access to clean, sufficient and safe water for all. The strategy is simple: together we can create more impact!

We support public water organisations through peer-to-peer knowledge exchange in water cycle management. We do this through long-term Water Operators’ Partnerships with water organisations in more than 15 countries to strengthen capacity, improve performance and enable them to provide a better service to more people. Find out more on who we work with on 'Our Projects' page.

Our Main Partners

We cooperate with the partners in the Dutch water sector to implement our projects.

Consortia and Strategic Alliances

We participate in consortia and strategic alliances to increase the effectiveness of our work and create added value. It also gives us the chance to expand our core activities.

World Waternet is partner in the WaterWorX (You are leaving this website) programme, a public-private collaboration (2017-2030) with the Netherlands’ Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the ten Dutch water companies and their local partner companies, with the aim to provide access to safe drinking water to 10 million people worldwide.

We are also affiliated with Dutch Water Authorities (You are leaving this website) and play an active role in the Blue Deal programme. The Blue Deal will run to the end of 2030 and has one clear goal: to help 20 million people in 40 catchment areas around the world gain access to clean, sufficient and safe water.

With the Municipality of Amsterdam (You are leaving this website) we jointly developed the ‘Amsterdam Approach’. Together, we share our experiences in addressing urban issues in the field of waste, water and spatial planning in an integral way, with metropolitan areas around the world.

Our Knowledge Partners

We are preparing for the future with a powerful Research & Innovation programme to introduce new technologies, improve operations, and respond to societal challenges. The programme offers excellent opportunities to partner with leading water organisations. This allows us to tackle the same challenges together.

Environmentally aware

In order to perform our work properly, we must fly. Of course we try to keep that to a minimum, but we cannot escape the fact that we emit CO2 each year. By supporting Trees for All (You are leaving this website) we give back to nature by compensating our emissions through planting trees. This way, we try to be as circular as we can be.

Trees for All plants and protects trees to create a healthier climate. Their projects are certified and guarantee the amount of CO2 that is absorbed. Trees for All prefers projects in developing countries, as these projects protect existing rainforest, but also improve the living conditions of local communities. An added bonus is that trees grow faster in the tropics, so they absorb more CO2.

Trees retain the climate’s natural balance and help ensure a green and healthy planet. They absorb CO2 from the air, storing the carbon and releasing oxygen. Trees are also key players in water management, which is why forest planting and conservation is important in our projects. Trees reduce erosion of river banks, silting up of water basins and help maintain groundwater levels. Trees are an important part of the water cycle.
