On Friday, 18 October 2024, the annual NWB Video Award ceremony once again rolled out the red carpet for an inspiring showcase of impact-driven stories from global water management projects. Launched in 2022, the NWB Film Award has rapidly grown into a platform that captures the heart of international water initiatives, bringing their real-world impact to light through the creative lenses of amateur filmmakers.

This year's theme: Climate adaptation

This year’s theme, Climate adaptation, struck close to home for World Waternet. Anchored in our commitment to climate resilience, we were thrilled to see our efforts recognised as our Tanzania Water Operators’ Partnership (WOP) took centre stage, winning the award’s highest honour. Along with a €5,000 prize and a permanent place in the Dutch Water Authorities Hall of Fame, this award underscores our team’s unwavering commitment to building sustainable, water-secure futures in vulnerable regions. Stan Avontuur was there to accept the award on behalf of World Waternet.

Our award-winning video, IWRM4WASH (Integrated Water Resources Management for Water, Sanitation, and Hygiene), is a two-minute glimpse into the tangible change our partnership is creating within the Mindu Dam Catchment Area. In this brief but powerful film, we captured our innovative use of nature-based solutions and deep community engagement to combat climate challenges. By integrating agroforestry, providing farmer education, and implementing sustainable water practices, we’re demonstrating that climate resilience is achievable through dedicated collaboration and innovation.
