Come and meet us at the Singapore International Water Week!

The 8th Singapore International Water Week will take place from 8 -13 July and will continue to provide holistic approaches for sharing and co-creating innovative water solutions in the broader context of urban sustainability. World Waternet will be present at the SIWW. We will participate in the following sessions:

Monday July 9th

The Resilient Cities Leaders Dialogue

From 15:00 – 16:30 hrs

Netherlands Pavilion located on Basement 2/ M32

Global challenges can be tackled from the local level through effective and customized local solutions. The session brings together city leaders, city network organizations and experts from different sectors to share the progress of their stories and experience and to identify the actions that need to be taken. Steven van Rossum (World Waternet) will provide a pitch on the Amsterdam Rainproof program. The session will be chaired by Mr. Henk Ovink Special Envoy for International Water Affairs for the Kingdom of the Netherlands.

 

Tuesday July 10th

Session 1: Leading Utilities of the world

From 14:00 – 15:30 hrs

Begonia Room 3001A/B-3002, Level 3

The ‘Leading Utilities of the World’ initiative is a global network of the world’s most successful and innovative water and wastewater utilities. This Gold Standard utility network has 28 members and a further 5 new nominees will be inaugurated as they present their outstanding innovations and 5-year plan at SIWW 2018. Come and hear each of the utilities’ three most outstanding innovations, the performance changes they have made, and the results they have achieved.

 

Session 2: Roundtables feedback on the presentations of the speakers from the Advisory Board

From 14:00 – 15:30 hrs

Begonia Room 3001A/B-3002, Level 3

The speakers from session 1 will receive structured feedback on their presentations from the Advisory Board and existing members of the network. Steven van Rossum (World Waternet) will be one of the panellists who provide feedback on the nominees’ pitches. Attend this session to join these leaders at roundtables, and hear their insights on how the water sector can progress to an even higher level of performance.

 

Wednesday July 11th

Seminar Circular Industrial Parks @CESS

From 11:30 – 14:00 hrs

Enviro Summit Singapore Level 4, Room 4403-4404

The goal of Circular Industrial Parks is to add value to the byproducts and waste streams, and to convince companies to join this practice. More efficient resource use, and spill-over effects to logistical and corporate affairs, will give companies on a CIP competitive advantage. Topics that will be covered are waste-water, solid waste and biomass to energy.

 

Seminar Circular economy: transboundary; solutions for smart cities @CESS

From 14:45 – 17:30 hrs

Enviro Summit Singapore Level 4, Room 4403, and 4404

The seminar gives a preview of the Singaporean and Dutch approach of becoming zero waste and circular nations. It will focus on the role that government; knowledge institutes and industry City Solutions Expo Singapore – Clean.

 

Friday July 13th

Workshop: Partnership Development towards Resource Recovery for Zero Waste Systems

From 08:45 – 16:45 hrs

Citizen Farm, Singapore

ReCirc provides integrated resource recovery solutions for zero waste strategies. Fourteen companies and organizations that specialize in consultancy, planning, design, (institutional) management and technologies join forces and capabilities to provide sustainable and cost effective solutions for closing the waste loop in Singapore.

André Struker (Waternet), Ben de Ru (Waternet) and Duane Schlicht (Nijhuis Industries) will lead session 3: Resource Recovery from Used Water and Sludge. This session discusses several Recovery systems for Water, Nutrients and Organic Matter and Cellulose from sludge and used water to solve waste challenges and reduces CO2-emissions equally. These systems function as an integrated treatment and upgrading facility creating value and providing sustainable solutions.
