Waterworx Kenya Nairobi, Mid-term review and more
From 16th – 21th September, World Waternet visited Nairobi again to work together with our partner Nairobi Water. A Mid-Term Review (MTR) was conducted by Jane Nabunnya Mulumba, Country Director, (IRC-WASH) from Uganda. Besides the MTR, we guided NCWSC to set up a water balance and gave feedback on the strategic plan.
Over 15 interviews (internal and external) were conducted by Jane Nabunnya to review our partnership’s relevance, effectiveness, impact (provisional) and sustainability. In addition, a site visit at Kabete and an observation of a team working on the water balance was part of the review. While we started with a broad approach, we are now focusing. Now, the main focus is optimization and extension of production capacity and reducing non-revenue water. This is relevant because there is a deficit of clean water!
Based on the preliminary results we can conclude that our partnership is relevant. NCWSC is very eager to continue the partnership. From top management to the people on the work floor, we could see a positive impact of our cooperation. We are very eager to work on the recommendations that we made:
- improve the cooperation with the HR department in capacity building.
- improve monitoring and evaluation, especially on technical data
- Extend the number of people trained via the Young Expert Program.
We are very much looking forward to our next mission and cooperation with NCWSC!
