Frodo van Oostveen
CEO
"Go back?’ he thought. ‘No good at all! Go Sideways? Impossible! Go forward? Only thing to do! On we go!" (J.R.R. Tolkien).
About me:
You could say I have a Blue Mind: value water by being in, on, under or nearby water (systems).
I have always been fascinated by water. As a child I was often found in or around the water. But this passion for water really emerged in 2005, when I started working for the Volvo Ocean Race, a yacht race around the world. During this time, I worked and lived in various global cities, all connected to the sea. There I immediately experienced the importance of a good water supply and the crucial role that water plays in the social and economic development of a city.
Within our work at World Waternet, I strongly believe in putting public purpose first and solve the problems that matter to people. To do this, of course, we have to stick to a value of Life Long Learning: every day is a chance to do better.
My work for World Waternet:
As CEO, I help our team to swim as a diverse and inclusive team towards implementation of our business plan or moonshot 2030. Our focus is on ‘Collective Intelligence’ as together we are smarter and more impactful, and on ‘Ubuntu’ as its all about long-term relationships and connections.
I invite you to join me for a Walk & Talk along the river or a refreshing dip into the water all year round. You can reach out to me if you want to exchange ideas about mobilizing impact-oriented interventions linked to our long-term water-system partnerships. I hope to inspire young(er) (non-water) people to strengthen our digital capabilities and refreshing perspectives.
